Can you build a coach home on your lot?
Enter your Ontario address and lot dimensions. We check municipal rules, map your buildable rear yard, and show which FastUP™ models fit — with estimated rental income.
For reference only. Lot size, setbacks, house footprint, and model fit are estimates — accuracy depends on survey data and municipal rules. We handle planning, permitting, and architectural work.
Coach home questions
What is a coach home in Ontario?
A coach home (also called a garden suite or additional dwelling unit) is a small secondary residence on the same lot as a main house. Ontario Bill 23 allows up to three units on many urban lots. Rules for size, setbacks, and height vary by municipality.
How does the MyStreetValue Coach Home Wizard work?
Enter your Ontario address and lot width and depth. The wizard geocodes your property, applies local coach-home bylaws, estimates your main-house footprint, and shows a lot diagram with setbacks. You see which FastUP™ models fit your rear yard plus estimated monthly rental income.
Which coach home models are available?
MyStreetValue evaluates six FastUP™ designs by Solisterra Homes Inc.: The Student (282 sqft), The Betty (300 sqft), The Coach (400 sqft), The Garden House (500 sqft), Mid Century (800 sqft), The Megan (1000 sqft). All models are FastUP™ designs by Solisterra Homes Inc. Each unit meets or exceeds the National Building Code of Canada and is built for superior thermal protection and energy efficiency.
Can I use this on a Scout listing or my MyStreetValue portal property?
Yes. Scout listing pages load coach-home analysis from the server when MLS lot data is available. The MyStreetValue homeowner portal embeds the same engine from your saved property profile. This /coachhome page is the public standalone tool when you want to check any Ontario address directly.
Does MyStreetValue handle permits and design?
Yes. Estimates on this page are for reference; MyStreetValue handles planning, permitting, and architectural work. Submit the book-a-call form after your results to discuss your lot and model options.
Which cities does the wizard support?
The engine includes confirmed rules for Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton, and Niagara Falls, with provincial defaults for other Ontario municipalities. Always confirm final eligibility with your city before building.
Embed surfaces: Scout listings and the MyStreetValue homeowner portal use the same coach-home engine via server API — no separate login required on those pages when lot data is on file.
